Construction supervision

After 35 years of working in various disciplines in the Dutch construction industry, I emigrated to the Costa del Sol in Spain in 2017 with my wife.

Here in Spain, construction is done in a different way than in England. Not only do you see different use of materials, but the ethics of working are also different compared to England. The Spaniards find job satisfaction important, even if that will mean that things will go less quickly than in England. That is a given, but making agreements and sticking to them is of course something that everyone must adhere to.

When you are present yourself, a regular check of the progress of the construction is a logical thing. But what if you (still) live in the Netherlands and can therefore not regularly check the (re)construction? I'll be your "eyes and ears" on the construction site.

What is the method? An intake interview will first take place in which you indicate your wishes and form of construction supervision. In order to check the construction, even at times when no workmen are present, a key handover will have to take place. It is preferable to have the intake interview take place on the construction site and to discuss the "ins and outs" of the (re)construction there.

In the absence of a schedule, I will draw up a schedule, which the contractor or (re)builder will have to approve. At the moment this construction supervision is only possible with Dutch, English or German speaking contractors or (re)builders.

The hourly rate is €35 excl. VAT. Travel costs are charged separately and are of course dependent on the location.
